Default Raybestos Brake Pads for C5 Corvette..

Upgrading my brakes and rotors with Drilled/Sloted rotors and Raybestos brake pads. Any members out there using Raybestos pads, and if so, comments on brake dust and performance..
My requirements are not street racing, just want to up the stock performance, improve rotor cooling ability and reduce brake dust on the wheels. Thanks for your comments.

HAWK HPS brake pads are the BEST I have used. Little dust and GREAT braking.

If additional cooling is your goal, drilled and slotted rotors will not get you anything, brake cooling ducts would be more appropiate.
The stock rotors have more than adequate cooling for street applications, they have directional cooling vanes.

This is the brake pad you want to use

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Thanks for the feed back, I think I forgot to mention, I have a budget and the CarboTech Bobcat 1521 may be out of my price... As far as Drilled/Sloted, I've have used them on two other vehicles (280ZX and Saturn SC2), I agree dust does increase, but the braking has improved on both vehicles. Prior to that, I was warping rotors on the 280ZX from spirited driving in the mountains. The SC2 stops on a dime. I gave that car to my son, but I just wanted it to stop faster and not heat up. I think Drilled/Slotted rotors work great. I am aware that with the drilled holes, you are loosing surface space, but that is offset with the rotor cooling down faster between braking where the gas pressures build up on smooth rotors.. But that is my experience... I do appreciate your feedback...

I have installed the exact rotors you have and the same Raybestos pads that are ceramic. I am not ricky racer. I like the drilled look and the very low dust.

The dust on ceramic is really a white dust compared to the metallic black dust. When first installed a little more dust until they are seated in.

Thanks T Vette, good to hear that, I wasn't sure what to expect from the combo. I too like the drilled look and since I have installed the C6 Z06 chrome rims on my C5, I didn't want the front rims to dusty all the time.. Going to do the swap next week. Thank all of you guys for your feedback...
