Fuel System Setups??
Preface:
I have one really borked fuel system (hybrid of pre-03 and 04 stuff) from an install attempt by a tuner to get a quick change type of arrangement for pumps didn't work out well (fuel read problems, filling problems, transfer pump clogged, etc).
So I'm having to drop the tanks and lines anyways to get it fixed...
Here's the options I'm thinking (shoot them down at will).
1. Put a filler neck on passenger tank, run pumps in both saddle tanks so that they are independent of each other and feeding into a Y connection and regulating. I don't care if I have to fill up on each side..
2. Install an active transfer pump between the two saddle tanks?
3. Go back and find an OEM system.
Any help/input is appreciated.
I guess what I'm looking for is a groundwork to have a easily scalable/servicable solution.

If you are looking for reliability, I would go with a pre 03 set up in-total. Lots of engineering went into figuring the tanks, pumps, etc. I'm not sure that after frankensteining your car in any way, that you will have a reliable system that is easily serviced.
Not sure if you'd need to swap the tanks completely but in the end you could put a better aftermarket fuel pump in with an external, replacable fuel filter.
The other option would be to return the system to the original. With the right gas and maint. there's no reason that sock filter in the tank shouldn't last longer than you may own the car.
Not trying to be negative on your ideas here, but unless you have got some serious mad skills for electrical, fuel delivery, tuning, and bodywork, I just don't see how this would make your car better.
If you havent read it yet the factory service manual has a detailed description of how the system works, including the siphon jet between the tanks. It's pretty complex.
The stock parts got modified so I'd have to ditch the whole system
It's a real PITA to find a complete 03 and younger fuel system... oh well, winter project.
