Default Clutch Question.......!!!!!!

I am having to replace the slave cylinder in my 99. I want to put a clutch in it to handle my long tube headers, ls6 intake manifold, a good tune and my nitrous that i am putting on while i have it apart. I need a reasonable priced clutch that will do the job. Suggestions??? Also while i have it that far apart is there any maintenance things i should do to it??? Thanks!

I here the centerforce clutch is a good all around clutch. and they are cheap too. Monster clutch is another that has some good feedback. the specs seem to have issues with some ppl. Hope this helps.

Get a tick master and slave and one of them clutch bleeader extensions.

That set-up is for guys who's clutches need more fluid flow.

BTW, Monster had all kind of quality control issues and a bad bunch of clutches, so becareful.

Monster has all that sorted out now and it was only about a dozen or so units that came off the jig out of whack slightly. I have a Monster level 3.5 and its great with no problems.

Every manufacturer out there has problems with their clutches at one time or another. I have never heard of one clutch out there that has been perfect for everyone.

There was also a thread about some material issues over on LS1.

Unfortunatly that's a big problem and shows the lack of quality control of these somewhat small manufacturers. Not to say that it does not happen with OEM parts, but they are covered by a warranty.

None of these small vendors, seem to warranty their products leaving the end user hanging.

Here is a thread over on tech section with a guy currently going through hoops with a spec clutch thats giving him hell and headaches. Its a good read on whats happening, whos saying what, whos covering what, whos pointing fingers and such.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...ease-help.html

The rep I bought my Monster clutch assy from and the Steve the owner of Monster both said if I ever had any problems they would send me out replacement parts no charge.

Our Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder is set up to work with the stock GM Slave. Our Master is a huge upgrade over the factory piece for a myriad of reasons - you can read all about them in our FAQ on our site:

http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...te/hydraulics/

Our Remote SPEEDbleeder Line is nice because it allows you to go back and bleed the car any time without having to crawl under there and tear the car apart to access the bleeder. Read more about it here:

http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...ulics/#bleeder

Best of luck! FWIW - Monster Clutches are our best sellers. The customer service you receive from Monster is top notch!

Not true, Steve at Monster replaced my pressure plate even before I installed it. He said send it back, just to be safe. All shipping expenses were covered by Monster. The replacement PP looked different.

That didnt sound like it was leaving a customer hanging!

Lucky you, wish that was true for the other vendors.
