I have a '99 FRC with 49500 miles. Im throwing a code (P1516) and its driving me nuckin futs. The car stalls and a check engine light comes on. As soon as I let out of the gas the check engine light goes off and the car drives normally again. It only does it when I stab the gas really hard in the higher rpms.
I did have a battery acid leak but I got it cleaned up. It didnt make it to the wiring harnesses and I pulled the connectors out of the TAC itself and there is no intrusion what so ever.
Do TACs go bad after so long? I couldnt find a wire thats bad anywhere. What else could it be? Someone please help me out!!!
Sort of sounds like the blade isn't moving right away or sticking as suggested.
P1516 Command vs Actual Throttle Position Performance (TAC Module)
You might want to spray it out with brake cleaner or electronic parts cleaner. ELectrical connections to the stepper motor there? How about checking the connector at the throttle position sensor inside of the car. Just throwing thoughts out there.
