O.k. here's the deal. I have 2000 tire pressure sensors that have been
donated to me and I have a 2002 convertable. Can I install them in a second set of Z06 size wheels/tires and use them on my vert? :yesnod: Specifically, I am concerned about compatability of the sensors with my VCM and if I need the dealer to reprogram anything.
There should be no problem using them on your car. The donated sensors won't work on '97 - '99 models though.
Just do the reprogram as suggested above.
What I have been told is that the 2000 sensors will not work on your 2002 - they were changed in 2001.
I just purchased a comlpete set of 2002 polished wheels/tires/sensors to put on my 98 vert.
I will trade you my 2002 sensors for your 2000 sensors - if your 2000 sensors will work on my 98. That way I can sell my 98 set complete with sensors and tires.
I'm taking delivery of some 2002 rims but need the 2000 sensors. The rim guy that is switching out the rims for the new car said he can get me the 2000 sensors. If you need a set of 2002 sensors I may be able to switch with you or at a minimum get you a great deal on some 2002 sensors. i think he is giving me the sensors for free.
Wow, what a great response! :D Currently, my car is resting in storage with the extra sensor in the glove box :mad  :cuss but I am purchasing tires and wheels soon. When I get all of the equipment together I will do the trade (having to visit my girl :D and retrieve the sensors)with anyone that is still interested.
