Default Headlight problems

I just purchased a 2000 Vette with very low miles 27k I haven't found any real problems except one. The headlight are an aftermarket HID conversion that work great and have great visiability with one problem. When I turn the headlight off they dont go down however if I push the headlight lever forward after the headlight are off they go down no problem. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with the complications, if any, with the HID's on the C-5. But, it sounds like your headlamp switch needs to either be replaced or the contacts cleaned internally.

I had this in mine when I installed. I simply had tied the hot lead of the low beam to the relay. I left the ground on the low beam float. I put in a heavy ground strap for the light. I found that if I grounded the headlight connector ground everything works right. Hope this make sense

Common problem, your HID low beams do not pull enough current to "convince" the headlight module to close the headlights. There is a resistor you can add to the circuit to fix this.
