Steering column bypass question
The other night I was out in my 2003 vert. 6 speed manual trans vette and I went to start my car and I got the dreaded remove key and waite 10 seconds message so I did just that and everything worked just fine after that. So the next day I went to the dealer to see if any recalls were done because I am the third owner and I have owned the car for about 4 months, what a great car.. They told me a reprogram was done to the column system, after reading the posts their was not to much information about that, is my column going to lock up still and gas shut off? If I buy the steering lock bypass and install it will I need to get my computer reprogrammed to undo what the dealer was suppose to fix. When I insert the key and remove it I can hear the steering column lock bolt engage and the column locks and unlocks at the moment and I also cleaned the key contacts and did an ohm test and it was within range +/- 10% on both keys and they were the same ohms. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this potential problem and enjoy this great vehicle with out warring about getting stranded. Also no codes or security light issues yet?
