I let my battery go dead from sitting, I have new battery but radio is locked and I don't know the pass-code. Dealer wants 45.00 to reset just thought I ask if anybody can help. 2001 C-5 Vert.
Thanks.
Here's something i copied from this Forum a couple of years ago but have never had to use it so I do not know if it works or not. Worth a try for the price you ar paying for it:
1. Turn th ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
2. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 for six seconds.
3. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don't take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.
4. Press the AM/FM button
5. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.
6. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from Step 3 and the last three digits are from Step 5.
7. Call 1 800 537 5140.
8. Press 1 then # (pound). You'll hear "Invalid Code, try again".
9. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by *.
10 Enter the number from Step 6 then * (Star)
11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice.
12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from Step 11
14 Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC.
If it does not work do a search as there have been others that have had the problem and posted here.
with 8vette7. I found the same info in my files and it's dated 12-21 03.
Thanks for the info, worked up till code. I couldn't get past invalid code, probably worked at one time but not now. Again thanks thought I had it for awhile there.

Apparently, there are new or different codes that will work now. Try the ones listed in this previous forum thread on the same topic.
It's nice that someone posted information for any thief to use to unlock a Vette radio.
I certainly have no control over what is posted here or anywhere on the internet but its kinda stupid to post this information publicly don'cha think? Next time send it via US mail or FAX.
The reason these codes don't work is because GM went bankrupt and closed down many dealerships invalidating their codes.
..rickko..
PS. Any code that doesn't start with a 1 will not work on a Corvette radio.

Yeah, how dare these people try and help the OP out. I'm sure a theif's top priority after he steals a Vette, is to get the radio working.
Great advice, the 206053 code worked for me. Needed to disconnect the battery to repair the headlight motor gear on my C5. Bought a repair kit from info posted on this site and saved over $600

Here is an additional list of codes to try in step 9 ( in case the 139010 doesn't work)
Well in my opinion, this is what the forum is about, members seeking answer's and then asking members to help and then getting the help. I don't think someone breaking into a Vette is looking just for a radio...........
Honestly, who steals a Mexican radio?? Someone needs to look in the for sale section here or on ebay. You have to practically give these away. It's a $75 - $100 part at best and that's in mint condition.
I'm facing this with an 05 Grand Prix I fixed up. Half the display is dead on the stupid Delco crap. Does GM make any electronics that are not junk? I have a parts car with one in it but when I powered up it locked. It's not stolen, I bought the car but I guess it saw the other one's VIN# didn't match and LOCKO.
As far as putting this info on the internet for thieves...that's a joke. GM should publish this stuff since Theftlock was their dumbass idea. Of course then their dealers wouldn't be able to rip people off selling the codes. I learned how to get a spare VATs key on the internet for 6 bucks. I guess I wasn't suposed to get that info and instead pay the dealer $100 for a freakin key.
