Thanks for the replies, I think Im just going to buy new stock control arms. they're 149$ each and right now I only need one. all my other bushings are still good. I just dont trust going to polys, because they make too much noise, and it will cost me more in labor charges to take out the stock bushings and put in polys(and that I have to keep up with so they dont creek/squeek).. I might as well just stay stock.. and I think that having better handling is an illusion..dont forget, most people go to polys when their stock bushings are bad and then of course the handling will be better because you're used to old used up bushings! try the car brand new at a track first, test it, and then put polys in. I dont think you are going to feel that much of a difference. especially if everything is firm on your suspension.
If you are ONLY going to race it professionally then go to polys. But I think that if GM engineers really thought polys were better then the Vette would have them from the factory..
I had a 98 pontiac grand pri that I replaced the bushings with polys..what a mistake.. as soon as I switched them back the car was quiet again and it handled the same.
It's good to se somebody choose parts based on their intended use and what their priorities are instead of just following the pack.Anytime you make changes you gain here lose there.Poly bushings I disagree without the deflection of factory bushings polys will make the suspension react quicker ,but ride harder the plus of factory bushings along with increased deflection comes a smoother ride.Factory engineers do a good job of choosing parts but have many prioritiesand have to please performance and cruisers alike. So while factory bushings are good they can't match the performance of poly bushings new or not.I replaced the rears on my 03 as the stock ones although still good deflected enough to give me wheel hop
