Default Tick MC - Any Regrets

All,

Like a lot of mods, the Tick MC (based on way too much Internet reading) isn't without its drawbacks. The two I see listed most often (beyond the install which I'll let slide because it is once and done) are the increased pedal pressure and increased challenge in modulating the clutch. The latter could very well be a result of the former...stiffer pedals are simply more difficult to hold right at that sweet spot. The benefit of the tick is that it actually allows you to be able to shift!

Having said that, for those that have done it - any regrets? With regard to the pedal pressure (my big concern on a daily driver) have you gotten used to it or is it more like "Man, I feel like I'm driving a farm vehicle!". Would you recommend it for a DD with some stop and go traffic. I'd love to actually be able to shift, but don't want to trade one pain in the butt for another.

(Note: posted this on LS1GTO.com as I am looking at the Tick for a GTO, but as that offering is relatively new, I figured I would post here as this unit has been available to Vette owners for much longer).

Thanks!

Chris

I had Tick install my Z-Grip clutch along with the their Adjustable MC. The pedal effort was only marginally higher than the stock setup.
My clutch chatters very badly upon rolling from a stop (in either 1st or reverse gears). I have assumed this was a result of the clutch and not their MC.

My installer was not impressed with the clutch chatter saying their race cars behave better than that.

In short, no regrets. The car shifts just like stock...better actually.

It's not that different from stock, but I would have prefered a lighter pressure pedal.

There was one thing I didn't like about the kit. It had a copper washer where it should not be sealing. It should seal on the flare not the washer. No big deal. I cut down the slave cylinder threads and the flare would seat and seal the way it should.

I put in the tick adjustable MC at the same time as a new Clutch. The pedal pressure is much higher and there is a lot of chatter, but I attribute both of those to the clutch. Maybe I'm wrong. I do like how well the tick MC is made, its a solid part, far better than stock. I also like the ability to adjust the pedal height/engagement point.
