Default Faulty gas gauge

I have a 99 coupe that on the last 2 gas fillups the gas gauge only goes to slightly past a half a tank. When the fuel gauge is showing empty the tank only holds about 10 gallons.
I wondered if this is likely a problem with the gauge or in the tank itself>

Had the exact same thing two weeks ago and this board saved me.

1. clear your DIC codes
2. Pour in a large Techron Plus (autozone or whereever)
3. watch your gauge magically work again

In the future, there are certain brand of gas to avoid and to search out. Chevron and some Texaco have Techron added.

Good luck

Gotta remember to do this as well...

intermittenly, the guage will read 3/4 when it's full and will slowly work it's way to full over the first 30-40 miles.

Don't know about Seafoam, but Techron resolved my issues (and I continue to use Chevron gas with Techron).
