I have a set of ccw classics, was wondering if the tpms will fit on the front rims, they are 17 inch. The wheel lip is shallow and the valve stem hole is smaller than a normal valve stem hole. Also what happens if you dont run the tpms, will the low air warning fault come on in the dash?
You have to "band" the sensors in place. That involves getting a large "hose clamp" like they use for A/C ducting, and use it, along with a dab of epoxy, to secure the sensors in the "drop" in the center of the inside of your rims, near the valve stem hole. You then use a regular valve stem in the outer half of the rim.
(don't get any glue in the "airhole" of the sensor, when gluing it in place)
When I had my CCWs a few years ago, the 18s on the rear, would accept the TPMS "as-is". There was something about the outer shell of the 17s that they were using, at least at the time, that wouldn't clear the sensor on the front wheels, so the fronts had to be "banded"...
I would speak to John at CCW and see if he has any other ideas for installation. While the bands are not a problem maybe he has another way to install them.
Not anything exotic, but I got to make my first passes on the drag strip in a 600whp G8 with 560ftlb of torque running on 19" CCW street wheels and Invo tires! The car runs mid 11's at the moment (with the owner driving..lol) I ran on my first pass 13.8, second pass 13.0 and last pass I broke into a 12.8 all at around 120mph. My problem is my 60ft times I had a hard time getting off the line. But you know practice makes perfect!!
I believe I am now hooked on the strip!!

Yeah I know I know, but not many people would just hand me there keys to go drive their car 120mph. I would have to travel back to Baton Rouge for that one!!
