fuel leak
hello gotta good friend who has a 98 -50k mile car he call me today and said he is getting gas on the ground next to the left rear ...any suggestions as to what might b on that side of the car by the left wheel that may b leaking .....thank u ....

Sending unit gasket. The sending unit bolts to the rear of the Left fuel tank on the side. Accessed by a removable aluminum cover.
These gaskets are prone to leaking and GM has issued a revised gasket with new bolts that comes as a kit

Normally this is a fuel filter connection developing a leak. Its fairly common to find. However, its critically important that he stops driving the car immediately and fixes it right away. The filter is right over the exhaust pipes and he doesn't need the car to go up in flames.
