Tie Joints Rear on C5/Z, melting
Looking for input here.
Did an Pfadt Coil Over install on my C5 Z yesterday..
When pulling stuff apart in the rear, i see my Tie Joints are done, the rubber grommet has melted.. I am sure i am not the first one experiencing this.
This probably happens at the track days here, we have small tracks, with a lot of braking involved.. So it took some heat..
Is there someone selling this parts in an uniball solution? Or isnt that an good solution at all? I know i have used this with succes on my track day BMWs--
Thanks, for any input!
Nils

What are "Tie Joints"? Has the car been on a dyno? Things can get over heated quick on a dyno if not enough cooling fans are used with a number of pulls in a row.

Hello
This is where you adjust the TOE IN/OUT in the rear.
My english probably sucks here, and the technical term in english for whatever name it is i do not know..
But, this one goes on to the spindle in , and allows you to adjust toe in / out..
It is the brakes that has caused this, it is very close..

Other alternative is to install a bump steer kit front and rear by Baer or Pfadt.

Go to VBP andbuy there their tie rod ends and poly boots. They sell additional boots for like $5 each.
