Headers question
I have a 2000 FRC. If I buy a set of headers for 01-04, how hard would it be to get the AIR tubes extended to meet the different connection points on the headers ?
Or could I simply not hook them up ?

I just went through this... I cut the hard line just behind the valve cover and put in a piece of rubber tubing;
I had initially tried bending it in to submission, then decided to lengthen it so it may look a little funny to you.
You can certainly remove the entire AIR system and tune it out also.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a pretty good solution.

Take it out. I can now remove all eight spark plugs in under five minutes. I have a set of LG Pros at an exhaust shop right now getting the AIR connection removed. My current QTP headers were done last year.

That would mean removing the AIR pump as well.... would I need a new belt to boot ??

I don't think the corvette has had an engine drive A.I.R. pump in about 20 years........

What I did was bend mine. It was really hard though.
You could add the 01+ air tubes (requires intake removal) or just delete the system.

I may just have it deleted since I'll need to have it tuned after the cam install.

Yeah it's worthless if you ask me. Get some blockoff plates and you'll be good (after the tune).

Ya, you will get a check engine light if the tune is not updated to not throw the code.

If you haven't ordered headers yet, have them made without the connection. My AIR pump is still in the car, I just removed the hoses and left the one from the pump to the driver's side in place.
