I've been experiencing a problem where I can't open the trunk when the car is running and in neutral. It can't be open from either the automatic trunk latch on the dash, or the keyless remote. It seems to be an intermittent problem, but once I turn the car off, the trunk can then be opened. Any ideas???
The vehicle has to be in Part for an automatic, and in neutral with the parking brake set for a stick! Try setting your parking brake and having the transmission in park.
The button on the dash in my car would not open the hatch at all, regardless if it's in park or with the engine off. I have to use the keyless remote each each time.
I was messing with the traction control switch few weeks ago, so that might have something to do with it. I've looked at the both fuse boxes and all the fuses seem to be OK.
Try pulling the fuses, forgot which ones, check the manual. And pull the switch out of the dash and check the connection.
Mine did that once, I pulled the fuses and put them back in and it worked.
The C5 is a strange beast. With mulitplex cabling and floating grounds, anything can happen.

Are you referring to the regular manual or the repair manual?
