Default COLD WEATHER....Help

Does anyone know if after market gas line anti-freeze cause any damage to sensors or fuel injectors? Also after my car sat in the garage for 5 or 6 days when a pulled the car from garage the ABS service light came on and the anti traction control light came on. My 99 has 33,000 miles on it, any suggestions would be appreciated. When I turned the car off then back on everything cleared on the DIC.....

I've never used gas line anti-freeze on my Vette, but I have used it in extreme conditions on all my other vehicles without any problems.
Never had some of the ABS problem you mentioned, but on the few cold days we've had this winter I have had the 'Active Handling Warm-up' message appear on the DIC. This always cleared up in 2 or 3 minutes as the car warmed.

I don't think that gas line anti-freeze is necessary. There are additives in the gasoline that prohibit your fuel from freezing. Just my opinion.

Don't know if gas anti-freeze is really necessary in your area. Mom's Canadian (Winnipeg) and I remember many days back in the 70's we had to use gas line anti-freeze in our vehicles -- but that was at -30F and -40F. One night, at 49 below zero at a cabin near Rennie Manitoba, we had to toss well-used charcoal briquets under the oil pan just so the oil would loosen up enough to let the car turn over to start. In those extreme conditions, GL antifreeze might be justified... and then again, it depends on how old the tanks are at the station you buy your gas. ;)
