I had my PCM tuned from Chuck COW and am just now getting around to reinstalling it. I am going to change my stock thermostat today to the 160 degree.
First any helpful pointers will be appreciated
Second, when I put the new one in do I need to lube up the new o ring at all or just remove old t-stat clean area and install new t-stat with o-ring without any lube?
Thanks in advance and I am looking forward to getting this complete so that I can at the new COW tune.
Like you said, just drain your coolant, clean off the surface and bolt the new housing on. Pretty simple install. I had Chuck tune my C5 last Sept and wow, what a difference!! Of course I expected that since he had tuned my 08 a couple years ago. You'll love it!!
Just reinstalled the PCM (after cleaning and painting the area behind the PCM and under the battery box) put the battery in an connected. Started right up and after letting it idle for about 5 minutes gave the go fast pedel a few quick nudges and all I can say to the new throttle response is WOW.
Car still on the lift as I need to change the t-stat but I wanted to start her up as it has been since before Christmas since the last time it ran. I am very excited about the new tune and will post a thread after the new t-stat is installed and I get to drive her.
Note to self - self keep the traction control in the on position on first drive so you do not kill youself.
Also I will be posting thread in the for sale section for some 02 sims as I will not need them any more.
