How do you tell an LS6 intake apart from an LS1 intake ?

LS1 intake has a rounded rib going down the length of the underside. The LS6 intake is flat on bottom.

To find out without removal....
Look for the part number close to where the manifold meets the head.
Part numbers:
The 97-00 'Vette LS1 is 12556333.
The 2001-2004 Corvette LS6 is 12573572.
The 2001-2002 F-body LS6 (identical to 'Vette but diff part #) is 12561184.

Now that's what I was looking for !!
This is "on" my car now -
12556333
This is on my garage shelf -
12561184
Looks like I'll be swapping this "
12561184 " intake when I do my cam install.

Good deal.
One thing to keep in mind is that the pre-'01 ls1 engine has a coolant line that runs from the back of the heads (T'd together) to the front where they are T'd from passenger to drivers side.
You will need to make a decision, here are your choices:
1) Swap the curerent coolant line for the '01+ set up (not expensive)
2) Leave your current line in place, and grind a little groove in the webbing on the underside of your LS6 (won't hurt the intake) so the intake can be bolted down.

And where can I get this 01+ coolant setup ?

For dirt cheap prices search the parts section. Lots of cars being parted out lately.
Also, you can post in that section that you want to buy. Shouldn't cost much.
