Default Crank Pulley removal question

Doing a cam swap finally got the steering rack off. Any tips for pulling the crank pulley. I have a 12 pt arp crank bolt. I hit it with the impact but its not moving. I was going to get under the car and hold the fly wheel. I have a normal puller and was going to thread bolts in the crank pulley and remove it this way. Anyone have a better method?

Just put the trans in 4th gear, rear wheels on the ground.....and use a breaker bar.

Hopefully you have a service manual to reference........

The bolt is very tight. Breaker bar with a pipe over the handle should do it.

If your balancer is the stock one then there is no place to thread a puller and you need a smaller 3-jaw puller to grab the hub between the spokes of the balancer.

The balancer should come off easily with a good aftermarket puller, just make sure you get it even so that is pulls it off straight and does not **** to one side.

Which one do you have? Some come off with a different puller. Mine required a three bolt steering wheel puller. Don't push on the bolt to remove as recommended in LS1howto.com.

There is a tool that you use to lock the flywheel or flexplate. It replaces the starter.

The car is done!! Sounds great can not wait to get the car tuned! My balancer came off real easy with the three bolts... Everything went pretty smooth actually.. Has anyone ever had a problem with your headlights coming up? Mine come up when they want to... Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt... Any ideas?

Have the battery tested at the dealer with an electronic battery tester, it might have internal problems even though it starts your car.

It happened to me, and I was mad. A battery that starts your car but it is not good for your electronics
