Ok, got the clutch in and ready to get started tomorrow with the break in. I think spec and others recommend 500 miles before wot throttle shifts. What have you guys done, be serious. Back in my drag racing days you just couldn't really do any kind of break in. Set up, put 20 minutes on it on the jack, load the car and go to the track.
4-500 miles of stop and go driving with lots of up and down shifting.
Did this when I installed my Tex 0Z700 and never had any of the chatter problems that many have complained about.
Well, thought I was getting it back yesterday. Picked it up and the clutch felt pretty good, just a little stiffer then the ls6 clutch. Drove it home and noticed the speedo was not working, the tach was fine and all other gauges. Headed back to the shop, when I pulled up the a stop sign and pushed in the clutch it would die, started back up just fine. Did this several times. The guys at the shop says that probably has something to do with the speedo not working. They should have it figured out this morning. All in all, I think its going to be a good clutch setup. I guess there is a vvt plug or something that came unplugged, they said when they test drove it the speedo worked and never died when they pushed in the clutch. I'll keep you updated.

All is good, got a chance to drive it a few miles today. Feels like its going to work pretty well. No vibrations, no issues what so ever. I would recommend this clutch, I got mine from speedtweekerz.com. They also did the install and did a great job.
I cant remember what I did on my third clutch. I think it was 500-700 before I really used it. I had highway miles during the break in numbers so I put extra city miles on it, and I had my gears done at the same time, so maybe it was 1000 miles. Its was torture getting to the 700 mile mark
Phil, thanks for the info. I hope mine will last longer then yours, you have a few more horses then me. Maybe I don't push mine as hard as you do, anyway we shall see.
im crossing that exact same road just installed my monster level 6 and 500miles man thats pure madness , holding the itch back will be hard. best of luck
Its hard and the weather here in Missouri needs to cooperate so I can drive it more. I think occassionally getting on it won't hurt as long as you don't try and shift it hard and not running the r's up very high. Just be gentle 99% of the time. No burns outs, none of that stuff.
