witch air intake system is better vortex rammer or twin elemet ?

i have a rammer on the car now and i have a twin element laying around
i have a rk sport ram air hood the outlets come out right where the twin
elements would sit tust thinking 2 elements better than1 ? thanks for the feedback
That changes the playing field if you can access outside cold air via the hood scoops for the twin cones... Of course I can envision you sucking in a ton of water in the rain though.
I've been to a couple of fairly large dyno day events and I can tell you honestly that there is not much difference in gained horsepower among the aftermarket systems. You can gain .05 seconds in the 1/4 with a Vararam, but for the average C5 owner, any CAI system (or system modified to receive outside air) will get you 10-13 RWHP. That's a nice chunk of power for the money.
thanks for the feedback i was thanking with twin elements 2 would be better than 1 . the rk sport hood does not let water in would like the
vara ram but have a twin element laying around dont have to spend any money keeps the wife cool
Of your two choices I would go with the Vortex. I've used it and it was fine except for maintaining the air cleaner is a pain. You have to access it from underneath the car once installed. I've read in the past that the twin tube has turbulence in the intake tract where the two sides meet. Presently I have on my current car the Callaway Honker. This is the class of aftermarket intakes, it looks OEM and is of excellent quality. It produces some of the highest hp of intakes, is easy to install and you access the filter from the top making it easy to keep it clean. It also relocates the MAF to the upper location, which GM copied from Callaway on the C6 engine. People complain that the Honker is more expensive but that doesn't factor in that you don't need to purchase a separate air bridge like you do with all other intakes because it is integral to the design of the Honker and is all one piece.
