There is no performance benefit to relocating the MAF. The only reason to move it to the front is if you are having trouble sealing it at the back. Once you get it properly sealed there isn't any further reason to mess with it. I tried relocating mine, and it led to more problems with vacuum leaks. It's back in the rear of the intake now, and I haven't touched it since.
Some have had problems with it hitting the cowl. I relocated mine but it is still in the back. Next time it is off I plan to install the LPE kit. Much cleaner installation.
I have things ready to install and seen some have done the relocate. I didn't see an advantage but thought I'd see if I missed something some where.
Thanks
I relocated mine after I tuned a guys car and noticed his was relocated right in front of the throttle body. I liked the theory behind the relocation, but noticed no change. I did it only because it seem to make sense that the MAF take its most exact reading just before the air enters the motor.
you can also see where I relocated the IAT sensor into the head of the Vararam cover. I did this before I learned more about tuning. Now, I would not relocate the IAT because I can adjust the IAT sensor tables for less Knock Retard with HP Tuners.
Phil is right and so others, you can also buy from katech or caspers electronics, i bought from caspers same thing what lpe sells well if not same than it will be close. I did in the rear but did L shape plumbing called elbow.
I know where to get the wire harness for LS6 TB to LS2TB and the extention for MAP to front. What I need is info for the plug and retainer that goes to top of manifold what instructions sheet shows to install EGR. LPE cant be the only source.
