Thinking of installing a set of LG Street headers..They list two models. What kind of experiences have people had with installing the street version with the cats they supply. I don't drive it too hard or track the car. Thanks
The Street series are excellent headers. No installation problems. They're stainless steel, sound great, add torque and horsepower. To sum it up, they perform exactly as advertised. The LG Pro Series are designed for those with modified engines looking to get every last bit of power. (the lunatic fringe )
This would be a good project to do now while you're not driving your car. It would also allow time for you to send out your computer for the appropriate tune after you do the O2 sensor mods and to enhance the hp increase (unless you have a tuner person near you). Did mine at home two winters ago and still quite satisfied.

Reason: error
There have been reported problems with LG Pros, and Super pros where they are mounted so low that folks driving C5/6Zs have actually smacked the headers on the street over bumps etc. I believe LG came out with the Street series to fix the problem (plus they are cheaper). There are so many header makers and they all claim the same 20-35 Hp improvements. 1.3/4" for stock 6.3 and below sized LS and 1 7/8" for LS7 and heavily modified regular LS's.
My wife and I installed the LG Streets over a weekend. You gotta get the car up in the air, at least 20 inches (from my poor memory). We got the high flow cats and x pipes as well. It then got a tune and rear 02 deleted. Fairly easy installation, once you get the headers snaked up to the side of the engine bay.

Good luck
Mine were a real easy installation. I did them while I was replacing the heads. Pretty much just threw them in from across the room.

If you're going to trash LG take the time to quote the complaints - talk is cheap.
My LG Pros have been in the car for over 4 years and it's lowered all the way on stock bolts. I have NEVER scraped with the header collectors or the cats.
The Pro's have a merge collector and metal matrix cats (more expensive), the streets do not. The Pro's are 3" in the X pipe and cats, the streets are not (2.75" I think). There are differences. The streets were not introduced to keep them from hitting, the streets were a less expensive alternative then the Pro's to keep competitive with Dynamax and others who didn't have the same features as the Pro's but were a lower price.

Thank you I have the Pro's and love them also lowered with no problems.
