PCM 0300 dtc. What's wrong now?
only abnormal code is in the PCM section 0300. its marked History.
looking in the service manual is lists this as a misfire detected, which could cause emissions problems. I sure haven't felt any misfires! the car was driving just fine earlier and idling perfectly tonight. could be be a result of cold? the service manual has you checking all kinds of things looking for a possible cause. it also says the condition has to be detected twice before the error is thrown.
Why me? please help!

I O W A!

Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Isn't it 300Deg below ZERO there?
I would say the engine had a cold start glitch and thats all. If it were me,,,,I would just clear all the DTCs and take her for a nice ride and get her up to full (DYNAMIC) operating temps. Once its fully warm clear ALL the DTCs and see if any return. The engine is very sensitive to any crank shaft variations and its easy to get a misfire at cold start up. Mash that accerlator and let her PURRRRRRRR!

Just letting the engine idle doesn't really do your car much good. If the streets are clear, take her for a short run and see how she runs.
That drive will do you good!

Bill
thanks very much for that post! it helped brighten my day. its pretty pathetic but I felt like I had a pretty good day yesterday which is something that doesn't happen for a while. work has me down a bit and I've been feeling unmotivated. I finally had a good day and got a lot of personal projects accomplished or at least moved forward. then this happened right as I was putting the car back inside and ruined my good feeling. your post helps a lot!
its cold here, but I love the cold so it doesn't bother me. We were in the low 20's to high teens yesterday. at the time this happened it was just after midnight so it was pretty cold. I sure hope you are right and that's all it is. I did take the car out earlier yesterday because I needed to pick up some hardware for doing a little work on my other car. I drive the C5 year round as long as the roads are clear. the car drove perfectly, no issues at all. then it was after that when this code showed up. I just wanted to put it away and decided not to even drive it 30ft when the oil temp showed 19, so I turned on the radio and just enjoyed the sound of the engine for a few minutes when the code came up.
The manual says that this code won't be set until 2 drive cycles have the same problem observed. maybe it was just a random nothing-to-worry about miss while I was idling the car both times to get the oil temps up a bit before driving? I usually don't sit there until oil temps hit 100 like some do, the car warms up faster when its driving! but since it was really cold I did wait for them to come up to 40-50 before driving it easy. I sure hope that's all it is. I'll clear the code and try to take it for a ride again today and see how it does.
thanks again, you've brightened my morning a bit! I sure hope you're right.
