Default Help on diff decision?

I drag race 75% of the time with my 346 02 C5 "6 speed" and i'm in the middle of installing new heads/cam and bunch of other junk and should be looking into the 450hp range. but i'll also be running the HSW 150hp shot sometimes as well.
My questions are,
1) Should i go with, DTE, RPM, or ECS diff?
2) 3.90 or 4.10? (i'm currently running MT 26/10.5/16 ET streets)
3) For example RPM and DTE have the Stg 2 diff for $1795 which comes with C6 parts inside with Motive gears is that gonna be strong enough or spend $3495 for the Stg 3 that uses 300m stuff etc?

I don't want to spend anymore than the $2k but if the Stg 2 will be junk and in a pile of pieces after 50 runs etc i'll wait and save more money for the Stg 3....

Thanks!

I have a feeling you'll likely add a few more mods in the future - the stage 2 is great, but for a few bux more, get the stage 3 and you'll not be caught short needing to upgrade later on when you add even more power, and every body always adds more power - BUILD FOR THE FUTURE

From what I see from other people writing in, the stage II does find at 450rwhp. The transmission starts to be a weak point after that. Sombody around here broke the transmission mainshaft. I opted for a stage I with a 3.9 with only the ZO6 longshaft, but still need to get a set of drag radials to really start abusing that diff.

I would have to agree with dankhts. If you are going to run 75% of the time at the drag stip, do it right the first time and forget it. From my experience, it's usually the ring and pinion gears that is the weak point. Sure the racers break the main output shaft from time to time but that is caused by the driveline vibrations IMHO.

I would recommend 4.10's for your power level NA. Just be prepared to shift just after the 60 ft.

If you want to see what's in the stage II, click on my sig under "C6 Z06 guts into C5 diff".

Go with RPM diff!
