I have a 02 Vert and my problem is the springs on the doors to the recess that the hinges fold into when the top is down are broken. I was told that I'll have to replace the entire panel unless I just want to live with remembering to flip them closed each time I drop the top.
Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone found a way to replace the spring without "springing" for a whole new panel. The panel was quoted @ $100 + each
One of mine broke at the 90* bend at one end of the spring. With a pair of needle nose plires, I pulled the spring out just a little and put a new 90* bend in it. Some day when it becomes necessary, with a little Ingenuity, I'm going to come up with a way to put a new spring on it. I've already got ideas, just haven't got around to trying it, since it's working fine for now, and there are always more important things to do.

By the way, $100+ for a 13 cent spring is crazy!
