I have not seen a write-up showing how to do it. I do know that there is a kit available containing all the tools needed. It's quite an expensive kit but when so many dealers shut down in the last few years you can/could find them on ebay pretty cheap. I have a friend who bought on of the tool sets, we even have my old diff to tear apart, just haven't got around to it yet.
This is what I did. Bought a RPM and had my mechanic install it. It came with a pinched o ring and leaked so I brought it back and he fixed it and I was back on the road in a couple hours. Nothing like having someone else do the dirty work for you. If the gears are not set right you will just be wasting you time and money. Buy one and don't be cheap...
Humm I will not beng doing it at home everything will be done at a shop its just a friends shop who is a mechanic he just wanted to see whats involved in doing this... got me thinking twice now!
Unless hes familar with setting up the getrag gears i would buy a new diff!
you could always pull yours, and if its okay for your car to sit at his shop for a few days, send your diff off to RPM and have them install the gears and while its there Hardened Output shafts
This is not something you want to tackle yourself if you don't have the correct tools or the directions. You will ruin a good set of gears if it's not set up properly. Here is a link to where I had the rear set up.
