Default bunch of codes! help! active handling

so i made i pass down the track last night and i had a few codes thrown... 3/4 the way through my pass it said check gauges high voltage... my service handling and abs lights came on as well codes i pulled were tcs c1237h c1278h... radio u1064 1096 1016...ldcm b2282 b2286 b2284....u1064h.......rdcm b2283 b2287 b2285 u1064......scm b0851 b0856... now i gave you the laundry list its seems to me i may have a ground issue? i cleared to codes last night and if i give the car half throttle or more it throws them all again... i have looked up what the codes mean but need some help on where to look on fixing these issues thanks!

Default start with...

...check/tighten those battery cable connections? ... PM Bill Curlee & Bill Dearborn for their ground connections diagram....you got a ground or continuity problem somewhere...me'thinks.

If you have a ground problem, this might help.

High Voltage error usually results from a poor connection between the BATTERY connection on the back of the alternator and the battery Positive connection.

They join together at the starter solenoid:

Make sure that the circuit from the ALT to the battery is clean tight and secure.

As for the U series,,,check the wires and connections inside both door rubber accordion tubes. Pop them out, seperate the connectors and make sure thee not corroded, burnt or any bare wires.

ok i cleaned ground numbers 9,8,7,2,3 and i reset the codes only one showing now is the high voltage one. i still get the service abs, service traction control, and service active handling system codes every time i hit the gas a little bit... i understand i may have to remove that box and send it out for a repair on the handling system but i want to eliminate this high voltage problem first... any other ideas im going right now to put the car on the lift to see if there are any issues with the connections on the starter...thanks for the input

Just connect a jumper cable (ONE CABLE) from the positive battery terminal diectly to the BATT terminal on the back of the alternator. If the high voltage issue goes away, that circuit is compromised and causing the issue.

Ok update! Tried connecting the battery to the alternator...code still occured for high voltage...got under the car and checked the connections to starter and they were clean and tight and the bolts weren't broken...where do I go from here!? I hate electrical! Also last night while driving home I had the lights on obviously and when I gave her a little gas the gauge cluster would flash blinking on and off! Bill does this help with the diagnosis? I checked the wires and saw nothing damaged...out here in vegas the climate is dry so connections generally stay clean from rust and moisture

You need to determine that your actually seeing a VOLTAGE that is out of spec. If your really seeing an out of spec voltage, and the connections to and from the alternator are correct/good,,,the alternator voltage regulator may be BAD.
The voltage regulator in the alternator may be at fault. My recommendation would be to have YOUR OEM alternator rebuilt by an alternator/starter shop in your area.

Ok how should I do this? Make a pull and keep an eye on the voltage gauge? I've had a mechanic check the volts on the cable ends while I revved it high and they stayed at 14.2 cruising and normal driving everything seems good but ill check wot today

The IPC actually checks for this voltage issue. You need to determine if your actually seeing an out of spec voltage. You would need to use a separate volt meter wired into the circuit and be able to replicate the issue and read that meter.

OR

Is the voltage good and the IPC is in error??

OR

If your actually seeing a high voltage, the alternator would need to be repaired.

If it were me,,,,,,,I would have my alternator rebuilt. Look in the Yellow Pages in the Automotive Electrical section and call around. Tell them what you have and you should fine someone that can repair yours. It should be less than a rebuilt unit. You know where your alternators been and that it will work with your PCM.

Make SURE that you get the EXACT SAME part number. There are several that look exactly alike BUT,,,,not all of them will work properly with our PCM. If you get the wrong replacement, You may get a CHARGING SYSTEM FAULT Light even though the alternator functions correctly.

Find the alternator post that EVIL TWIN wrote on alternator replacement.
