OK, i just went out there, and tried to get the codes, but it would not let me enter diagnostics. Instead, it just keeps recycling the same messages (written out) on the display center - "low fuel, reduced engine power, check tire pressure, check traction system, check tire monitor system, service engine soon". The fuel gauge is pegged to empty, and the water temp guage pegged to hot. Also, there is also a relay on the right wheelhouse fuse box that is constantly buzzing.
I have EXACTLY the same problem as you have with the written messages on the dash (REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SHOCKS INOPERATIVE, CHECK TYRE PRESSURE, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON, LOW FUEL.), and the inability to enter the Diagnostic mode, can you help me? did you manage to fix the problem with your car??

SJ, I haven't had a chance to look into the problem yet, but of the responses I've received so far, the easist, fastest, and cheapest way of all the replies I've received is to look for a loose ground wire, at the battery, starter, alternator, or ground strap - especially if onbe of those items was recently replaced, and when re-tightened, perhaps not tightened all the way. If that's not it, then I have to graduate into checking for water around / near a body control module, ??? But I'll know more once the process starts. It's going to be a process of elimination. But in my case, I just replaced the starter, I'm thinking I forgot to tighten the ground strap enough. The CF member that proposed this to me (I also talked with him on the phone) seems to be pretty damn good and knowledgeable about this stuff, and I'm betting that he is going to be right. Good luck with yours.

His DIC indicates a complete communications failure with all systems (in his thread).
BlownBlueZ06- no, I did not remove the bell housing, so the wiring harness *should not* have gotten pinched. I did replace the starter while I had the exhaust pipes off. That's why when "Lucky" responded for me "....to check my wiring to the battery, starter, etc" it really made me wonder if I revered something there? I was so careful, though. Gawd, I hate these kind of problems. But all I know is the car was (previous to the torque tube problem) running like a scalded ape!
Check the G106 ground block by the starter. You may have a bad ground and by changing the starter disturbed something there
I disagree. The problems he is experiencing is classic class 2 no communication with the PCM...pegged temp, low fuel, zero oil pressure, reduced engine power, etc. That means no communication with the DIC as well. The humming relay makes me think there is a low voltage issue....thus, check all connections.
Well, as it turned out, the advice that I got from "Lucky" was absolutely spot on! He had suggested that there was a looses or bad connection at the battery or starter, or at the G106 ground. I got up under the car, and found that the ground wire had slipped off of the bolt, and therefore was not grounded. This caused all those other problems and mal-functions. A big thanks to Lucky and the rest of the Corvette Forum !

abigfoot - I went thru all of the replies on this thread...and saw that you nailed it too...your diagnosis was spot on as well. So I wanted to take a moment to say kudos to you too...good job!! it's appreciated
But now that I have the car running again, I have a few of codes that weren't there before - a C1232 and C1233 (LF & RF wheel speed circuits open or shorted) and a C1255 (EBTCM Internal Malfunction). Any ideas what these would be about?
