Default Broken MAF

I was putting my varaam back together this morning and noticed the power duct and MAF were not mated as tightly together as they should be. I took them both off the car to try to get them to fit together a little bit better and broke the end of the MAF sensor on the side that is facing the intake. I only broke about 3/8" x 1" off the lip and there is still plenty of the lip to slide into the coupler but I don't feel comfortable leaving it like this for long. I am getting ready to put some reworked 243's and a small cam in the car in the near future so I will replace the MAF then. Should I buy a stock MAF or is there a better one. If stock, then screened or descreened. Crank HP should be around 425-450 after build the car is a 2002 model.

Im at 450 RWHP on my 02 Z and the stock OEM MAF is working excellent. Save your cash and stick with STOCK!

If your going to get a tune later, order a ZO6 maf. It will not come with a screen. The tuner will be able to tune the engine to compensate for the added /different air flow thru the new un-screened MAF. There the same other than the screen.

A&A sells a MAF girdle to strengthen the MAF. You may want to pick up one of these...

Keep the stock MAF sensor. Almost every tuner out there will tell you the stock is just fine and will more than likely just make the car a PITA to tune. Unless your pushing 600+ to the wheels and need a speed density tune, keep the stocker.
