Default Need some help with starter wiring

I admit I'm not a genius. I'm in the middle of a header install. Which wasn't fun on the passenger side. As a result I pulled the starter for more room. And the block ground wires. Now the next day I have 5 wires all in the general area. A couple are easy to figure out. The rest not so easy. Anybody have a diagram or picture or color codes or something to assist me? How many total are on the block location? Two? Two on the main power for the starter? Leaving this funny wire that is red and looks like a fusible link that ends up being white. Too big to go on the bolt for the block ground. How many wires go on the solenoid?

I feel stoopid for not paying more attention. This LS ain't like the old small blocks. I also can't find the hole for the dispstick tube. Hair maybe?

Thanks ya'll. Picture is worth a thousand words. Turned out there were six wires. Never would have thought they stacked 3 on the main post.

I found the dipstick hole hiding behind the starter. The header makes it hard to see anything. And of course the bracket needed persuading.

End result is I'm done. Fired right up and pulls hard. Funny though I expected a code from the O2 sensor since I only have 2 now. I guess the Predator tune already had the rears disabled.

Lucky:Try searching for "Starter Wiring". I gave up. Lazy? More like needed instant gratification. I had a hunch it might be in the electrical thread, post 706 would have been an hour into reading. I'd be happy to give Bill a dime for the pic.

You know you can search within a thread...right? I did a search for "starter" in the electrical sticky thread.....found it right away. In any case....you're done and running..

True what they say, you learn something new everyday. I really didn't know that.

Ha...no wonder......that electrical sticky is one long ******...I wouldn't want to browse through 800 posts if I was trying to get something back together either.
