Bulletproof and 4L60E don't belong in the same sentence. Not to flame you but I saw no new parts in the list of improvements you had. If someone is looking to upgrade vstella seems to have all the right parts and probably a highly qualified trans tech. But if you have big RWTQ#s via mod's look for it to have a limited life. The limiting factor is how much you use the cars potential. If you can run 10's I would like to see how this holds up after a hundred runs or so....9's would be 50 runs or less imho...
Re: Bulletproof 4L60E trans ROCKS!!! (Corvette4ever)
vstella
congrats on the tranny. I am having one bult by Chuck Johnson at FLP.
What I would like to know is the difference between the PT2400 and the Yank 3000. I am changing the 3.42s for 3.73s when the tranny is swapped and may swap the converted at that time. I currently have the PT2400. I like the feel because it is not loose; I had a PT2900 and hated the loose pedal. The 2400 has too much at launch due to the STR and not enough from a roll. How does the Yank 3000 compare. Which STR did you get.
Buckmaster.....The Transgo is still in the transmission with new gaskets and a new steel actuator. The GM actuator cracked. The car still responds as it did with the transgo but BETTER and more sure:D No a cooler would'nt have saved the transmission IMO the components are just not meant for the stress and heat that we push on our cars at these hard launches and high shift points IMO.I did however install a deeper pan to accomadate 2 extra quarts of fluid.Temperature runs abour 18-194 degrees at WOT.Will it help keep it cool?...Perhaps ,just seemed like a hood idea as everything was apart.
16again...I just got back from Moroso tonie...It's about 10:15.Saw the jets and some wicked quick 16 brackets.Don't think I will see you this weekend ...soon though:D
As far as my interpetation of Bulletproof..for my purposes and most of our weekend warriors members with 300-400 RWHP I think bulletproof is a fair analogy. All machines break when pushed beyond their limits..it's just GM NEVER intended the C5 to take the abuse with the parts they installed at the factory and the breakdown is inevitable, sooner for some and later for others.
Let's not trade semantics and just say this transmission is a signifiv=cant improvement....:D

SilverStar I can't comment on the Yank with any real experience .I took out the PT2400 and installed the PT2800....I love it!
No problems... It's not loose and it grabs nice and early in the rpm's IMO. Sparkling launches!!
Everyone has a different foot and feel.Maybe the additon of the Transgo shift kit will help with the lash you are experiencing. I had alot of luck with it when I first added the converter. It made a significant difference in the feel of the driveline.Tight and quick! Just my .02:D
I appreciate all the e-mails for the parts list and vendors :yesnod: I'm just waiting on a few more folks to get on the list and I will e-mail you all back...Thanks for the patience:D
