:seeya OK ,so I have this toasted transmission of mine rebuilt with the best hi performance components available.I mean the best...5 gear planetary gears,wide red eagle bands,kolleen steel,9 pack redeagle clutches,double cage sprag and lots,lots more .This tranny is BULLETPROOF! and it really makes a difference.I thought the Transgo was great....THIS IS GREAT!!! :smash:
I also changed the Pro Torque 2400 for a 3000 stall and the diffeerence is really a SOTP difference..I mean the lauches now are simply breathtaking... :smash: Not only do I get a wicked 3 ft chirp in 1-2 shift but the 2-3 shift is sure and positive .I couldn't ask for a better shift.I even get a crisp 3-4 and a real nice kick in 4th.In 4th!:eek: I can't wait to get back to the track...I'm looking for 1.60 60' times,and I'm sure there is an extra .1-.2 in there in the 1/4 mile e.t.:yesnod:

It's fair to say that I'm rambling now and I'm just excited to have my car back after 1 1/2 weeks in the shop.It's nice to have her home.:D Excuse me.

Definately a great mod and certainly a significant improvement on the stock GM crapola that was in there and just toasted from the heat and stress.The job was done by Steve at www.eastcoasttransmissions.com in oakland Park ,Florida.He did a fabulous job. :yesnod: You can see some install pics on my home page if you care to take a peek.:rolleyes:

Congrats...sounds like it should last forever. I did the Transgo kit on my Camaro and loved the way it chirped the 1-2 shift, however you realize you will lose time at the track because of this. To me it didnt matter cuz I just love hearing that chirp when i want to...I had to go with the Transgo after by Yank 3000 install, it was just to sloppy feeling on the shifts, although my times were way better. The torque managent control in the PCM didnt help either.

Eric ..$2914.40 out the door... complete!... and that should be the last transmission you will ever need :yesnod: If you saw the parts that came out of the transmission you wouldn't believe it. It was inevitable to break down.I'm glad i didn't get stranded on the road.As it was I drove about 4 miles in 2nd at 30 mph..it took forever.Next day the car was on the tow truck.

 

Ouch, but sounds like it's worth it, but I'll have to wait until mine breaks before I can do that. Let me know when you're going to go to Moroso. I'll meet you up there. You did great at Bradenton. I want to see how she runs now.

I'll agree with that if you're using street tires, but with some ET Streets at the track the Transgo just enhances your times.

pjazz...Warranty? Yes, I still have the warranty but once they pulled it apart and saw the converter the jig would have been up.Plus all they would do is put the same GM junk back in there.What's the point! :rolleyes:

 

Sounds awesome!!!!Would it be possible to get me a list of all the parts.I'm a little far away from you to take my car there,but my buddy is a GM tech and can rebuild mine if I can get all the parts.

My piece of crap stock A4 tranny crapped out in the exact same fashion as yours (lost 3rd and 4th gear) last June and i drove it home 20 miles all the way in second gear like you did:U Since then i had my bullet proof Chuck Johnson Level IV Tranny built and have been all :D ever since.

Have fun and enjoy those new hard, fast and firm shifts :smash:
