Default What size injectors do I need?

My car went to the shop today with a bad exhaust valve (unconfirmed...) and the guy noted I still have stock injectors. I run a bunch of mods like heads, cam, etc.

Do I need to upgrade, and will it be beneficial. If yes, by how much and what size do I need?

It depends on what your duty cycle is. The person that tuned the car should have told you if you need bigger injectors or not
Is that a double stack wing on your car or a shadow?

DATA LOG your engine at WOT in 4th gear and see what your injector duty cycle is. If its above 85% you need BIGGER injectors.

Thats a wing.

Car hasn't been tuned since I've owned it. My mechanic was appalled that I was still running a stock injector.

Car is down with a probable bad exhaust valve. I wanted to have the injectors down while the thing is apart.

If it has a lot of mods done to it and has never had a tune, it that could end up very bad for you. If the motor is running lean your lucky its still in one piece. If you do put bigger injectors in it you WILL have to get a tune you wont really have a choice. The car wont run right with larger injectors unless its tuned for them.
By the way.............................that is a HUGE wing on the back of that thing.

You may be running a stock injector that has been resized. My injectors are oem and look stock but they do not flow at oem rates. I calculated the rate I needed and had the rebuilt/resized/flow tested.

Do not spend money on aftermarket injectors. Few people have the proper injector offset tables and there are lots of issues. Yeah, they make them work, and I made some work too, but it isn't as slick as using oems.

Good advice to check the duty cycle.

I need injectors and I am just bolt-ons. Above 85% duty cycle and you need to upgrade and get the car re-tuned. Get the car on a dyno ASAP.

Thank you guys. I think I am going to go with larger injectors and have the car dyno tuned at the same time. It will give me some peace of mind as well having the car tuned anyways.

36# should be good to around 500 at the wheels

Is there any benefit to going higher than what I need? 36 should be sufficient but what about 42?....

Do you have any idea what your car puts down at the wheels? What kinda heads? What size cam? UD pulley? Fast intake?

Going to 42's may make it tougher to tune and may drop the mpg a bit.

I know roughly 420HP, 571 cam 228/228, LS6 Intake. That is just engine, no nitrous (has its own aux fuel system)

Ok yeah that cam would put you at about 420 with a set of good heads. So you are running a wet system? Those 36ers should be perfect.

The SVO red top (36# at C5 fuel pressure) will more than suffice for that setup. They'll support over 450rwhp easily.

42s could be done if you were planning more mods in the future and wanted some room to grow, but are way overkill for what you have now. Definitely go no larger than that, bigger is not always better. Sizing them correctly is the goal.

I just ordered some 36lbs Competition injectors. Pricey, but I have been told by two people with vettes that they are the best.
