Lot's of luck with that one Bro! I wound up buying a new B&M Sport shifter just to get the bushings from the kit. For some reason my '03 Z came with the rubber wrapped bushings instead of the solid ones and they got chewed up beyond repair. I just about begged B&M
to sell me just the bushings with no luck.
Maybe someone here who has installed an early C6Z shifter will want to get rid of the solid bushings and will respond to this thread.
Good Luck!
The Hurst did not come with replacements and the originals are pretty much useless.
May have to try a WTB in the parts section.

Seems like mine are rubber. Been a while since I last fooled with them but I remember the thin line of (cracked) rubber running all the way around the outside edge of the big oval washers. I think poly would be good since it has a higher durometer than rubber and yet not be solid like steel. Sorta like anti-roll bar bushings.
I checked my parts listings and they are not shown to be available as a separate item. Wonder if we could talk Dave68 into coming up with something. His company is Conceptual Polymer out in San Diego. Hmmm.
Would these stop the shifter rattle noise from my B&Mripper?
The rubber isolated bushings, (non-Z06) will stop the rattle. If you were to change your shifter to the B&M sport shifter the shaft is rubber isolated like the stock shifter and it will be quiet again no matter what bushings you are using on the shifter box mount.
If you have access to a local machine shop, just have them make a set of solid bushings like on the Z06 box.
you can make bushings yourself quite easily start with a brass fitting I use pipe reducer fittings.. jam something into the center hole so it can be chucked up in a drill press or hand drill i like to use a piece of allen key as it has ridges which grip the piece once checked up run drill and work with a file, when you get close to final O.D.a small taper on one endwill tell you when you are close to final size by trial fitment and it allows you to make an interference fit... final.. drill out center to correct size drill bits are avail in sizes of 64 thou so the right center size is no prob.should take no more than ten min. per bushing if making shifter bushings the pipe reducer bushing can be cut in half to make two bushings.I have made hundreds of these over the years for throttle ,shifters and whatever and its really quite easy if using a hand drill its good idea to secure drill in a vise or clamp to a table.good luck!!

The problem here as I see it, is that the bushings are not round, they are basically an oval. Approx. 5/8" x 7/8" (rough guess) It's the odd shape that makes doing something at home more challenging.

Contact me if you would like replacement rubber bushings. Although they are not the oblong shape, they fit and work well as replacements for the OEM bushings.
