back in the day when cats were unheard off you didn't notice smell because all cars that way....sidepipes, 427, solid cam, headers, smell no problem, only power
These days, I can always tell when I'm following an older car or a polluting car that has a problem because I can smell it.
Those huge HP cars you remember from "back in the day" really aren't that impressive anymore either compared to the power a new Z06 makes with the better mpg ratings and less pollution as well. At the time, that HP race was pretty impressive but honestly, looking back thinking it was the best of times automobile wise is just looking back with rose coloured glasses.
