Has anyone had any issues with getting the painted lid aligned that goes on top of the headlight? I have a 04 c5 Z, and the lid on the headlight is making contact with the bumper. I have attempted aligning it and it is not liking me ha ha. any tips on making this easier on myself??
Look at the cover when its flush and decide where your low point is or where the cover is touching the bodywork. That’s the adjuster which you’ll need to work most.
With the headlights down open the hood
Remove the 2 torx screws on the rear of the cover (#15 torx IIRC).
Raise the headlamp doors. Go all the way to on and back off to park to kill the headlights while you work.
Remove the 3 screws on the black bezel (one on one side and two on the other).
Remove the 2 torx screws on the side of the cover and lift the headlamp cover off. Put it well away from your work area so you don't stand on it.
You’ll now see the white capped screws which adjust the height of the cover. Turn the torx screws clockwise to lower and counter-clockwise to raise the cover at that point.
Refit the cover. You might want to use just two torx screws first to see if you’re in the right ballpark. You can adjust the position of the cover within the hole by adjusting the position as you tighten the screws. Fit the side screws first and get the fore and aft position right. Fit the rear screws last.
Check for the fit. You may need to do it a few times to get it right.
I'm having this issue too. One of the headlights is sticking when I turn it on. When the lamp is closed the gap around the cover is not uniform. It appears to be binding in one corner. Is this solution the same for this problem?
