Saturday nite Kirban Install
Well, its Saturday and after installing B-K Seat restraints, and the CAG unit, I decided to install the Kirban shifter. IT'S SQUARE and the OEM gasket doesn't fit (could that be why so many B&M ripper shifter have been sold). Well, I'm looking to an alternative to seal the tunnel compartment. There is enough heat in the cabin in Texas without an additional heater in summer. I know we're all smart people so who has remedied this problem, and with what material. Oh! I bought the unit from the forum and all the parts were there.
If your are looking for a gasket for the square Kirban, look no further than your computer. I used a mouse pad (cut to the template of the OEM gasket) to seal the compartment around the shifter. A little alumimum tape around the gasket and insulation and good as new. Since I'm a computer geek I had several to choose from. Happy Z'ing and Keep Wave'n
