I can't imagine getting it too tight would cause problems but this is the first time I've installed one. Are there thicker gaskets out there that might help the fitment issue?
Did you install the button cap screws into the lifter valley cover? If you reused the stock bolts, the intake won't seat properly and over-tightening the bolts could have cracked the underside of the FAST.

I'm not sure... I used the long bolts that came with the fast, I believe there was a bag of shorter bolts but I thought those were for nitrous or something like that?

Bummer. You have to do this step...

If you didn't, I think you just found your problem.

Haha, I probably should have read the directions . Thanks for pointing this out, that is probably my problem! No wonder it didn't fit perfectly when I installed it .

Thanks!

That sucks. I made sure I went over the book they sent with it probably 4 times to make sure I did it right. Hope it all works out for you.

It's a surprisingly easy project the second time you do it, I had the whole thing apart in about twenty minutes and it's almost back together again. I made sure to locktite everything and here's to hoping the leak is gone. I'll post as soon as I know .

I put the new bolts in and tightened everything down properly, still has the same issue . Any ideas on how to track the leak down?

If you read one of my earlier remarks, I suggested the factory bolt heads cracked the underside of the FAST intake. Did you inspect the bottom of the intake carefully?

You also shouldn't need loctite on any of those bolts. I strongly suggest you slow down and spend more time reading this forum, LS1tech and many of the install guides.

I verified it was ok, no cracks (I was a bit worried so that was the first thing I looked at). I also made sure there was a good seal between the tb and manifold.

That is the next thing for me to check. The answer is no it isn't in tight, it's quite loose. What did you use to seal it? I've made sure to check everything else so that just might be the culprit, looks like I'll have to take it apart again .

I used Formagasket #2(white tube the sealer is a brown color). I put in on, then took a C-clamp (with a rag between the MAP and the clamp) and lightly clamped it down over night. Next morning came back and it was good and tight. Also is sensor safe

Thanks for the info! I'll take the whole thing apart and use the formagasket when I get some free time this week.

Formagasket didn't help . Could the tps need to be adjusted? I'm going to look into a smoke machine to see if I can find some sort of vacuum leak, I've double checked everything that I can get at.

You might have to take it apart and see if the seal inside is broken.

$%^$#@%^ that would suck. I'm getting really good at taking it out but I just want my baby to run right again. Could they destroy something while porting? The porting job didn't look very aggressive. Thanks for all of the advice!

YES!!!!! I didnt know it was ported! So now (1) They could have ported it to much and cracked one of the runners inside. (2) When they took the top of the manifold off they messed up the seal that runs on the inside on the manifold.

I'll start taking it apart again tomorrow... Is it worth taking apart to check or should I just send it back and have them send a stock fast?
