LS1 Stock REV Limiter Setting
With the tachometer redlined at 6,000 RPM for the LS1, It's my understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the REV limiter is set (stock) to engage at 6,200 RPM. When going through the gears in my car, if the tach needle nudges 6,000 RPM, the REV limiter kicks in. I'm guessing the tach is off a couple hundred RPM or the REV limiter starts to kick in at 6,000 rather than 6,200 RPM. The car is a 99 C5 convertible 6 speed. Anyone else experience this? I know this isn't a biggie, I'm just curious. If I shift at an indicated 5,900 RPM, all is well. Appreciate any comments.
