I have been battling a squelling noise in the engine bay and finally got it fixed by replacing the new alternator I got. After installing the alternator and belt I reconnected the battery negitive cable and the doors poped up and now won't go down. The headlights work both manually and twilight modes. I checked the 2 fuzes in the engine compartment #3 and #4 and #6 in the footwell all good. Any ideas? I hope its not the turnsignal stalk since I have changed that two times already.
Any help will be appreiciated.
Laurence
Disconnect the battery the vehicle. Charge the battery so that its FULLY Charged. Once its fully charged manually rotate the headlights manual **** so that the headlight module is in the fully lowered position. Make sure that you apply a little pre-load in the lowered direction. Then, reconnect the battery.
The headlights SHOULD, stay lowered.
The head light control module senses head light motor torque.
Bill,
With the side hook up of our batters I can't disconnect the cables and still charge it. I have a charger on it now but the cables are connected
Laurence
Charge the battery and once its charged then disconnect the battery. The Idea is to position the headlights DOWN with a little manual force on the manual **** so that when you connect the battery, it drives the motor further down and then the module will sense the down position and shut down like its suppose to.
You sure that you have power to the motors??? Check under hood fuse box Fues#3 & 4 and then Ground G-102, If thats good, Check your multifinction switch. That could be bad.
Yes I have power to everything else. I checked the #3and#4 fuze yesterday and they were good. I hope its not another mulit function switch. I have already changed two of them. Thanks for all the help. Laurence
Well Bill, I just love electrical probpems. I checked for power at the door motors and had 12V. I have two mulitfunction switchs that I've replaced for turn signal problems so I took the dash apart and pluged in a different switch and the doors worked. I disconnected the switch and reconnected the switch and low and behold the doors worked. You got to love it. Thanks for all the help.
Laurence.
