Default newbie exhaust question

I recently picked up a Borla Cat-back system and it's been suggested I add a Borla X-pipe at the same time. Help a new guy out and explain the benefits of adding the X-pipe.

The X pipe will change the tone of the exhaust note and cut down on the motor boat sound. The X pipe will also let the engine see a bigger exhaust system and add a little torque.
Cat back and X pipe will not add GOBs of power because the C5 exhaust was designed well from the start. You will see 10-12 HP but,,,,,,it will sound a lot better.

Yes you need a X-Pipe. It'll stop the popping on decel and rid the motorboat sound.

Before spending money on an x-pipe, I would think about your future plans. The next step after the x-pipe would be headers. Why not just get a system that has headers, cats (or not), resonators (or not), and an x-pipe. You will get more for your money buying it all at once.
