Default XER lobes

What are the advantages of these lobs an a cam....being agressive do they ad the equivalent of more lift & duration... the negative side they are apperently hard on springs, why ?

I did a few more search this what I found for those interested.
They are hard on springs but they will last for more then 30k miles , " depending on use " should install PAC springs whom are apperently superior quality.
The more agressive lobe design the quicker the valves opens the more air/fuel the engine can take in and the more power it will make
Lobe design... from mild to most agressive... XE, XE R, XFI , LSK.

my 228R texasspeed can has the XER lobes and i'm running PRC double springs. If an outside spring breaks, the inner spring keeps the valve from dropping into the cylinder

Best way to see what it does is compare the numbers at 0.050" lift and 0.006" lift (valve close/open duration). You will see with slow ramps that even though the 0.050" numbers between two cams may be the same a slower ramp will close the intake later due to slower ramps and you bleed off cylinder pressure as a result.

Maybe, but it won't keep it from hitting the piston at above mid-range rpm, maybe breaking the head off, with the usual carnage.

true. It at least keeps the carnage lower i'd hope I should be ok with the springs. If they break it's a reason to build my 408
