My new C5 (2 weeks, 500 miles) is leaning toward the driver's side. With a level and a tape measure, I determined that it is leaning between 1/4" and 1/2" to the left. It is a "daily driver," and I am a fairly big guy.
Re: HELP! - NEW C5 LEANING TOWARD DRIVER'S SIDE.... (omrossi)
Mike,
Give us the ride height measurements from the ground to the lower fender edge of each wheel.
Were your measurements taken with you in the car?
Dave
Re: HELP! - NEW C5 LEANING TOWARD DRIVER'S SIDE.... (omrossi)
Mike,
I don't think you have anything to worry about.
My guess is that most corvettes are within the range of yours.
The measurements you took are of the height of the body panels.
This is not a true factory trim height, which is measured elsewhere.
I assume you took the measurements with no one in the car, right?
My Z came from the factory with the right front and rear sitting 1/8" lower than the left front and rear. When I sit in the driver's seat, both sides become even.
When I lowered the car I left the side to side difference the same.
With a 200 pound person in the driver's seat, the left side will drop about 3/16". When you figure in that the car has 2 fuel tanks, passengers, luggage, etc, the measurements can change often.
The rear height will change about 3/16" from an empty to a full fuel tank.
If you weigh over 200pounds you may want to lower the right side a little to compensate, although GM sets the trim equal on both sides(within tolerances)
Good Luck!
Dave
