01 Headlight Issue

Default 01 Headlight Issue

Having an issue with one of the headlights, couple weeks ago the switch stopped working, so I configured the twilight, now the passengerside headlight wasnt coming up, its on just wasnt coming up, I played with the manual **** and it raises now but when it goes down, the motor keeps running....


any thoughts?

I believe your problem stems from a stripped plastic gear in the headlight motor housing.

This problem is common in our C5s and when one of the headlights is acting up or making noise (like a grinding noise) it is most likely a stripped gear.

The fix is not that difficult and there are products with good repair instructions. If you upgrade to brass gears I would suggest doing both sides at the same time as the other side will eventually fail the same way.

O'right... So I changed the gears in the headlights (very easy like you guys said) not the when the lights are turned off, the left one goes up and down several times, then it will stay up or half way up... only the left one thats acting weired.

any suggestions?
