Default Clutch/shifting issues

My 98 M6 is grinding during shifting between 2/3/4, and from 4/3, especially at the higher rpm levels. I am having some clutch slippage as well. The clutch assy to include slave cylinder/pilot bearing will be replaced in the very near future. I recently had a tune, and tuner indicated that the slave cylinder was going out, and would need a clutch replacement in the near future. I have seen no indication of fluid leaking from the car, and I have refreshed the fluid a few times within the last year, and yes it was black. Will the clutch replacement fix the grinding between the gears?

It's really hard to say but I'm thinking it's more a problem of the paper blocker rings being shot. It's a common problem with the early C5's and only a trans rebuild will fix it.
