Question regarding clutch speed bleeder
I purchased a clutch speed bleeder from a vendor and it is leaking at the end of the bleeder where the screw is. There is a rubber cap over the screw. I have the screw tightened as tight as I can go and it is shooting out the center of the tapered screw when I depress the clutch pedal. It blows the rubber cap off. Any idea what is causing this? Here is what I have.
Either the seat in the fitting is messed up,or the bleeder has a groove or some other imperfection on the sealing surface(the pointy part)
Look closely at both-if the hose fitting looks ok,go to Autozone,or some auto parts store and pick up a regular bleeder fitting (4 or 5 bucks) and try it-if it seats ok,Have the place you got the speedbleeder from send you a new bleeder fitting.
If the hose end is bad,you may have to change the whole thing,or have a hydraulic hose guy come to the car and install a new end(unless you're at a point where you can still get it off the car, then take it to him)
