There is a road race section on corvette forum. Post your questions there and we will gladly help you out.

Btw - don't use 5 silicone base, your system will not be happy. Personally I stay away from anything that has a 5 on it just because I don't want to make a mistake. Assuming this is your first time anything new will do but the ones Tom mentioned above are good choices. I used super blue when I first started years ago. Now I need something better but it would be overkill for beginners.

Good Man.

Seat time , more seat time and even more seat time is the more important then HP.

YES HP is sexy as hell, but we have guys with stock LS6s that can drive circles around LS7s, drive smarter and faster lap times. All because of seat time.

When you do make mods, please think in this order.

Contact Patches first:
-Seat and harnesses ( harness bar too ) NO leather seats.
- Good set of driving gloves and shoes
- Brake pads and cooling
- tires
- aggressive street alignment or mild track alignment, which are about the same and OK for street use.
Oh get your car dyno tuned ASAP. Just this tuning will help your engine run better overall.

Then second:
- oil cooler - Accu-sump is also suggested. Unless LS3 they a dry sump system is a must
- trans cooler & diff cooler
- bigger radiator may be needed.

more and more seat time.

( notice did not say anything about a CAI, LTs or HP modifications)

But a CAI and less restrictive exhaust can be added at any time. Stock mufflers, Borla Stingers or straight pipes. Any other muffler system is just for sound and IMO for the on track performance a waist of money.

Third Level of Modifications

Suspension. BUT that is a whole other story.

I use AP600 for aggressive use. Sometimes AP Formula 5.1 for street cars with some track use. Motul RBF600 is also very good.
