I recently bought a 2003 C5 vert and enjoy it thoroughly, except....
For the wind noise from around the door window/seals at highway speed. It's not too bad up to about 70 mph, but above that it's really a "bit much".
The other factor is outside wind. The other day I was on the freeway when there was a 30-40 mph wind blowing. It was just about impossible to hold a conversation.
Now for the question, does the window "tip-in" adjustment help in air leaks at the A pillar or at the rear of the window, or just along the top edge? I did the "dollar bill" test and the window fit is pretty good along the top, a little loose at the back edge.
You can adjust the window a few differnt ways... You may have to loosen the bolts that hold the brackets tight at the bottom of the window and move the window forward a bit.
My wifes 98 convt isn't to noisy. Still pretty tight with only 13,000 miles I guess.
You might try keeping it under 70 and don't drive on very windy days.
Wish I could suggest a cure for your noise problem.
It looks like depending on how bad the leak is, you may not have to take the door panel off. Good luck. My 02 vert is not that noisey, it an adjustment sould help.
